What is Our future? the Deadline is over. What should we do now?

Dear all, 

After the given deadline of 31st August to submit the report of Cadre restructuring committee, there is no any news about our Cadre. Please discuss this issue with our beloved Union Leaders so that we can come to a conclusion. If any one knows any progress regarding this, please submit their comments.

  2. Well done, really representing the present condition of the so called S.A's of our department. Working like a donkey, waiting for years to department to give some remunaration.

    Treasurer gets the treasury allowance, S.B P.A gets the S.B allowance. Even the Gr.D staff were upgraded and given arrears without touching the computer but what the so called S.A got working 24 hrs? nothing...........he will never get anything because our own administration doesnt want to upgrade the hard working donkey's.

LETS HOPE SA CADRE WILL BE CREATED .And various benefits will be given but are u sure that the WORKING SA,S WILL BE RETAINED., bETTER BENEFITS ARE GIVEN COMPETITION FOR THE SA POST WILL ARISE AND THERE WILL BE DEMAND TO CONDUCT EXAM TO APPOINT SA'S AND AS SUCH THE EXIXTING SA,S MAY HAVE TO BACK AS PA,S .

  4. Let us see what are points:

    1)Let's hope department will create a Cadre

    then

    A) Who will be benifited & on what basis?

    B) What will be the criteria to absorb the existing S.A's in that Cadre?

    C) Some people are working for more than 10 years and some are working from a month ago

    D) What is the euducational qualifications? some are B.E and M.C.A and some are just 12th passed.

    E) Some divisions have only 1 S.A and some have more than 10 S.A's

    F) Some people are working without having any S.A training and some have the training but not working.

    G) There are so many points like these which became hurdles in our way


    2) If department will not create any cadre or will not give any benifits

    then

    A) Some people will give unwillingness to work as S.A's

    B) Some will still work as S.A's as they dont want to work as P.A

    What I want to tell is please remember we do not have unity until we get united on a single decision nothing will happen. No one can save us only God knows what will happen.

    I think our Department's computerization started and the Administration was in need to have somebody to take on their heads. System Administrators did their best without any remuneration or recognition from Department. Let’s say from year 2004 onwards, all computerized SOs and HOs were fully computerized. We have best team of Programmers at PTC Mysore, they all are committed for best always. We have successfully implemented and most cost effective Web Based Services and Applications. EMO, ePayment, IMO, Speednet are best examples. Today we are in state that the Postal Network is strong enough to handle any/all needs of normal customers or Corporate customers. Today India Post has become pioneer and first preference of Government to implement various schemes and projects. It may be RGI Logistics, UID Centers, NREGS and many more to come. Friends we all SAs have put best and everyone agrees for this. Friends..."No one get anything until fight for it..". Friends I think just thinking that we will not get any thing is not the right way. Why we should not get anything..? Ask this question first to yourself. Also don't leave everything to God because God help those who help themselves.. Friends we all are committed to fight for it... We have left our faith and families behind to brought this state..Now please don't withdraw in any situation...

  10. i think that separate cadre will be created and existing SAS post may be drop but the SAS who were working from last so may years are fully exploited by the department .If this happens so what should they do ? plz give suggestion .................

  15. If we stop working only then this IPS officers will understand the need of creation of SA cadre. And they knows that not all the SAs will not stop working alltogether. But they should remember just like the politicians thought they will go on doing corruption and exploite us and none can stop them ever - the result they got is Lokpal Bill. So if the SA cadre is not get created then various problems will get arised in the near future.

    Regarding creation of SA cadre suggestions given below :
    1. An examination has to be taken just like any other departmental examination.

    2. For those who are working as SA , a percentage of marks may be given to them autometically, but this percentage of marks should be given as per their no. of working years. Like, if a SA is working for last 10 years then he may be given 30 marks, if a SA is working for last 5 years then he may be given 15 marks autometically.

    This marks will get added with the marks obtained from the examination and a merit list therefore may be created.

    This is also to be mentioned that those who are working as SA must have depatmental memos, which may be reffered as no of years working in the SA cadre.

    @ our responsible departmental officers : Please take the necessary steps NOW otherwise the total system will get colapse shortly. We all know that DOP should stand in its own feet within 2013, that menas we have to earn our own food. If so the case we have to work just like a pvt. sector and in any pvt. sector System Administrators knows their responsibility and also get remunarated accordingly and thus the work gets done and the pvt. sector increase their profits every year.

    I just want to draw your kind attention that i visited one of my uncle working in LIC of India Department and ask how are you managing your computerization he told me so many things and i learn too, when i ask him about their Cadre he told me that System Managers have different Cadre and they have been chosen from their staff and they are getting Higher Grades and getting up to 40,000. and also so many facilities at their homes like free Land Line phones are provided to them. But we even dont want extra facilities we just want a separate Cadre either on the basis of examination or on the basis of already working( Who have computerized the post offices).

    we dont want Dharnas becoz dharnas will suffer the departmental work, we are on a policy of Anna's and we just want our right staightly..................

    i am the only system administrator in my division , i never thought about my mother, father, wife and sisters.

A Common Examination is to be held for SA post and those who are qualified are given next grade pay of them if possible or one increment(other than regular) for every two or three years of continuously working SA's. It is responsibility of the government to see the welfare of SA's .They should organize a committee on SA's work with other PA's and also with outside working SA's or technicians who are having this nature of computer administrating in other private of Govt organisations and it happens then no doubt they will come to know that SA , who plays a key role in Computerization of Post Offices is being to be appreciated very much and special provisions of separate scales are to be provided or A notification is to be given for SA post with 75% form Dept and 25% from outside on competition basis with separate provisions

  25. In My view A SA has to be considered as separate cadre and be benefited financially by giving increments (other than regular) for every two or three years.For this A Separate pattern of Examination has to be Conducted and those who are successful they are only given such benefits
    A Committee has to be formed by Govt to compile the work load , pay salaries with that of others having the same nature of work posted in any other govt or private organisations and separate Pay structures are to be prescribed or A SA Cadre post is created and A Notification for filling it with a competitive exam with 80% from Dept and 20% from general is to be allowed with separate pay structures Wishing that day will come soon .Ramzan and happy Ganesh festival wishes to all of SA's .

  26. Today is 31st August.... We have been waiting to hear some positive action ever since that dateline was proclaimed by our Union Leaders after concluding a meeting with deptl bosses. Now, today is a holiday and Ramjan and it is very quite here. I am ordered today to attend office and fix some software upgrade error megh7. I have been waiting for this holiday to perform my private matters. It is quite, very quite... silence.. I want to know why the concerned people shut their lips this long. We are all watching every movement of their lips now... what will come out? or Will nothing come out in our favour. Its very sad,, its a sad sad thing. Why should they wait till the last minute/day. Why dont they just sit down on 25th August 2011... Why why...Why this is happening? For SA, there is no why. Yes, Yes, Yes. Come here, go there, time is fixed for you to complete a job, come and finish the work on Sundays, holidays.. stay up late at night till you complete, attend office early.... all these. Its a sad sad situation... Dear friends!

    Our demand for absorbing all present System Administrators in the Technology

    Wing to be highlighted.

    Department may fix qualifications like MCA

    and we may perhaps be thrown out, ignoring our past sleepless services, particularly

    when most HOs have been brought under WAN.

    We may favour fixing a qualification. But, present SA s should be absorbed

    irrespective of qualifications. If at all qualification is a must, there can be a Trade Test.

    We are trained in PTCs/Approved Institutes. We have enough work experience.

    The issue of saparate cadre creation and technology wing is the most important for the smooth and healthy working of technology implementation in department of posts. Since last 10-15 year the implementation is going on using the knowledge of SAs [so called SAs]without giving any benefits or allowances to the SA. Now the technology implementation started to spread all over the department up to the grass-root level and all the SAs are given their valuable time , dedication , intigration , and every thing for the shake of department and the department avoid such cadre for giving something its very very unjustice with the SA brothers. Now the time is come to think over this issue seriously.
    Lets prayer to GANPATI BAPPA for the sucess for us and wait until the GANESH VISARJAN.

    As we all know about the hardship and continuous working of System Administrators of the Department of Posts the entire technology implementation in the Department of Posts is going on but on the issue of the cadre creation of SAs and benifits to SAs are totally negleted by the Department. In the 6th CPC we dont get anything.
    We peoples are giving our entire devotion while working of critical installtions, upgradtion of packages, and role of SA is become very important in the implementation of Project Arrow and each and every thing is expected form the SAs only. All the web based application i.e. eMO, SpeedNet, ePayment,IMO,IMT, e-Post are showing the status of the perticular in the MIS on the web link of department and if any failure is noticed the SAs are held responsible for everything and some of them are punished for their devoted services for the department.
    These are my feelings in respect of the SAs working in the Department and The department negleting the Hardship of the SAs which are fully dedicated themsalves to brought the technology implementation in the department. Every one knows everything but nothing doing anything for SAs.
    The department must be obserbe the existing SAs as it is reward for their services towards the Department.

    "Cadre Restructring Commitee" ? What about the strike settlement promise given by Deptt to our Union Leaders? 31st Aug was the deadline for our future...what happened ???? we should ask first to our Union Leaders, they should clear the picture now,then we have to decide about our next step.

  40. The jasmine revolution started in egypt rocked the gulf and anna movement shocked the govt. means any thing will be changed through hesitations or depression. Please organise & prepare the plan of action country wide under only one umbrella. SA Post can lead the movement to resolve our demands. Please expand the SAPOST branches through out the country not only for Tamilnadu.

  42. Let the Dept create SA Cadre as there are many Hard Working SAs. Their work is quite different when compare to PAs. They have to update themselves as per the technical changes. However Separate Cadre should be created by the Dept will be good. Let us hope that the DOP administration is good.

  43. Some one says trained SPM as System Administrator and tell them to do the job of System Administrator. Its should be because so many Postmaster Grade - I officials were working as System Administrators and they are much more competent thats why they are qualified as Postmaster Grade - I.

  44. Postmaster Grade-I a/w technical knowledge is good. But its not good to ask them to maintain all technological work as system administrator as they are the head of the office and have more responsibility. Its natural to get less output when a human being is over burden. Hence its good to create separate cadre for system managers to get good output in the technical field.

    You said the point exactly, but who will talk to the administration regarding our problems? our union people only promise like politicians. In my opinion any union never took the problem of SA's seriously. The reason behind is we are lesser in number so they don't care for us.

    Now who will lead us? There is no one to communicate our problems to the department. First of all elect a person who is working as an SA so that he knows the problems we face. Do not trust these union leaders.

    First of all we should prepare database of divisional System Managaers.Divisional System Managers will be the leaders of the Division level union.After that Among Divisional Head Core Working Committee can be declared that will work for this movement..We should come on one platform and be unite first then Unions will automatically help us...First of all show ur unity.

    Union ke logo ne sirf apna kaam nikala h unhe SA ki problem se kuch nhi lena jhute wade karte h sab ab agar kuch ho sakta h to bas apni unity hi kuch kar sakti h hme ek hona hoga or sabse pahle suruwat divisional level par honi chahiye meri sab divisional sm se request h ki wo apne level par shangharas shuru kar de or hum sab ko guide kare.

Truly said.... we have to work like donkey, if any computer fault where is SA ?, If New updation/upgradation, where is SA ?, If there is shortage of staff, take work from SA as these is not regulr post & we can't deny or depute SA. even Recently for Class 'C' office, Onsite trg has to be given by SA evenafter having DCTC & thats for 1 day Only & if within 1 day, SPM not learn, why SA not provide proper lesson !!! so all burden is now on SA like donkey carying all....

  52. I JOINED THE DEPARTMENT ONE AND HALF YEAR BACK AND WAS COMPELETLY UNAWARE OF SA WORK. NOW I AM SO DEPRESSED THAT I AM NOT ABLE TO LIVE MY LIFE. I AM ALSO TRYING TO LEAVE THIS DEPARTMENT BUT NOT GETTING TIME TO PREPARE FOR EXAM BECAUSE OF THIS SA WORK. I AM SO DEPRESSED THAT SOME TIME I ABUSE MYSELF THAT WHY I LET MY DIVISIONAL AUTHORITY TO DISCOVER THAT I HAVE COMPUTER QUALIFICATIONS. FRIENDS GUIDE OTHERWISE IT MAY BE SEROIUS FOR ME.

We have to consider one thing that many old colleagues who have inducted their kids in the department are tying to and actually causing to remove the old system managers who has done a lot for the department and has brought the current level of computerisation in the divisions and their kids are taking their places. So after years of hardwork when their is a chance for the old system managers they are told to forget about the computerisation and let the new kids take over. and the facilities are offered to the newly inducted staff. This is sheer backstabbing by the officers.

  58. If you people cannot do SA work. Simply can comment on SA's work means please try to control your jealous on SAs who is having some extra knowledge/interest in technical field. They may/may not be recognized by the Dept. But pl stop your bad comments on SAs who is having some extra capacity to work as SAs or PAs. If they will be posted back to PAs they work better than other people sure. But it is sure SAs are capable to do any deptmental work.

It is very shameful for us (ALL SA) that the deadline is over by 20 days & we are doing nothing except posting our comment & our hon'ble Union Leaders are also doing nothing & they have no any answer to give us about the cadre & they are talking about that there are so many wishes of ours are satisfied & the rest are in queue. Have anyone any idea that what we should do?

Well according to me new cadre is to be created is certain to all but regarding selection criteria for the new employees if they want to appear in the examination for sa cadre they should have a b.tech/b.e degree in computer science or they should be mca and apart from that those who are already working as a sa for more than 2 years they should also be eligible to appear in the examination for the post of sa cadre.......and no else should be allowed
