Guidelines for Pension Adalats issued

The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW) is the nodal Department for formulation of general policy relating to pension and other retirement related benefits of Central Government employees covered under CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972. Besides this, it seeks to promote pensioners' welfare and serves as a forum for the redressal of grievances on the subject. With a view to firming up their policy, the Do PPW has formulated guidelines for holding of Pension Adalats by different Ministries / Departments. The objective of conducting such Adalats is to look into the grievances of pensioners so as to redress the same by taking on-the-spot decisions thereby reducing the delays in the settlement of their legitimate dues.
Primarily, this kind of interaction would instill in pensioners a sense of being cared for and attended to, thus, dispelling their feelings of isolation and neglect.

The guidelines are available in Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare OM No. 44013 / 2 / 2010 – Coord. dated March 25, 2011
