Small Savings Agents - General Information:

Small Savings Agents play vital role in Small Savings collection. At present there are 3 kinds of Agencies. Standardised Agency System, (SAS) Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana, (MPKBY) Agents (Public Provident Fund) , (PPF)

Standardised Agency System:

These agents canvass deposits in Small Savings scrips like Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), National Savings Certificate VIII issue (NSC- VIII issue), Post office Time Deposit (POTD), Post Office Monthly Income Scheme – (POMIS), SCSS). All Collectors, P.A.(SS &R) to Collectors, BDOs, Thasildars etc. in respect of Districts and Dy. Director of Small Savings are the appointing authority of SAS agents.

Commission payable details:

Public Provident Fund:
These agents canvass deposits only in Public Provident Fund Scheme. The District Collectors and P.A. ( SS & R) to Collectors, Deputy Directors of Small Savings are the appointing authority of PPF agent SL. No. AGENCY Schemes can be canvassed Rate of Commn.by G.O.I. Rate of Incentive  by State Govt. Periodicity 1. PPF PPF 1 % Nil Every month
Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana: These agents canvass deposits in Post Office Recurring Deposits Scheme (PORD). Only women are eligible to become MPKBY agent. All Collectors, in respect of Districts and Dy. Director of Small Savings are the appointing authority of MPKBY agents.
